Fire breaks out at leather factory in Tyangra none hurt

first_imgKolkata: A fire broke out at a leather factory at Tyangra on Tuesday morning. No casualties or injuries have been reported so far.Locals and the employees of the factory spotted smoke billowing out of a portion of the factory at around 11 am. They reported the matter to the fire brigade. Initially, around three fire tenders were pressed into action to douse the flames. Two more fire engines later were swung into the operation. The fire fighters had faced difficulties while identifying the source of the fire as thick black smoke covered the entire area. The fire personnel finally detected the source of the fire. They later managed to enter the room that almost turned into a furnace. The fire fighters started the cooling process. The incident triggered panic among locals. Some local people took part in the rescue operation. They informed the fire brigade and police. Following the incident police also reached the spot and evacuated the entire area to check any untoward incident. Police and fire officials ensured that none was trapped inside the factory. According to the preliminary investigation, the fire officials suspect an electrical short circuit might have caused the fire. Police said some inflammable materials and chemicals were stored inside the factory.
