Otsego County woman charged for stealing more than $22,000 from school district

OTSEGO COUNTY, N.Y (WBNG) — The United States Department of Justice stated Thursday an Otsego County woman has been arrested and charged with stealing thousands of dollars from her employer, the Morris Central School District. According to a news release, authorities said 47-year-old Kristina Hand stole $22,315 in checks made payable to the district in 2018 and 2019. These were years the school received more than $10,000 in federal funding.center_img The Department of Justice said Hand is facing up to 10 years in prison if she is convicted and a fine of up to $250,000.
