first_imgThe country representative of the Liberian Music Awards Foundation (LMA), Joseph Junior Teah has disclosed that his institution has finalized plans to erect billboards across the country, to boost the ongoing awareness program about the LMA voting process. He said this billboard project is part of the LMA’s initiative to ensure that ordinary Liberians understand the SMS (text massage) and the online “voting Code” process.”If we don’t implement many strategies for fans back home to understand the voting code process, at the end of the day they will lose creditability in the LMA,” he added. He also said the LMA will work out other strategies that are intended to make fans exclusively a part of the process, whose ultimate goal is the promotion of the music industry. But he said that since the LMA launched the voting code process, the voting result that they have received so far has been impressive. The LMA team is now asking fans to help spread the message to relatives and friends, who may still not have a clear idea of the voting code.Deputy Minister of Information Isaac Jackson was quoted in FPA as saying “Let the organizers keep on their good work; I think it will help government plans for the entertainment industry,”  “While LMA is doing all it can to ensure the active participation of fans to vote for their artists of choice, we are also calling on nominees to actively educate their fans about the voting code and how it works,” Teah said. The LMA voting code is a platform that is powered by Cellcom GSM, to ensure transparent and inclusive voting process for this year’s award programs, enabling fans with the opportunity of voting via SMS (text massage) as well as online.Fans can vote for this year’s LMA, using the voting code assigned to each artist or nominee. The voting cost is 50 cent per SMS (text massage) while online voting is available only through the LMA website www. liberianmusicawards.comThe voting poll was opened to the public on April 1 and is expected to end June 16, 2015.He said further that it is time that artists get involved with communication or campaigning with their fans, because the fans are the people who make them win.”But if any artists think that they can win without the votes of their fans, the result shouldn’t be a shock to them if it’s not in their favor,” he advised. He also disclosed that immediately after the implementation of the billboard project, the LMA will embark on hosting shows across the country as part of its strategies to create more awareness.Share this:Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)last_img
