Hie, a Cerritos High alum, finished up the tournament with a double-bogey on the final hole. Luckily for him, he had a big enough cushion that it didn’t hurt him. Callaway Golf Invitational Long Beach State shot a 300 in the third and final round, landing the 49ers in 14th place overall in the tournament held at The Farms Golf Club in Rancho Santa Fe. Seniors Brett Lederer and Ryan Wood paced LBSU, each shooting 222 in the tournament to tie for 30th place. Softball LBCC 1, El Camino 0 Hie finished the event at 5-under-par 208 to win the individual title at North Ranch Country Club in Westlake Village. The Trojans finished second overall, shooting 253 as a team, 5-strokes behind first-place Stanford. (8 inn.) Sarah Frudakis reached on an error in the eighth inning and later scored on a bases-loaded walk to Monique Sanchez to give the Vikings (6-7, 1-0) the win in their South Coast Conference season opener. Frudakis earned the victory in relief, allowing just one hit in six innings, while striking out three. LBCC resumes play at 3 p.m. Thursday against Mt. SAC. Baseball LBCC 24, Compton 8 Anthony Lymberopoulos enjoyed a huge day for the Vikings, going 2 for 5 including a home run and driving in six runs against the Tartars (1-21, 0-3) in South Coast Conference action. Mark Ruiz finished with three RBI, while teammates A.J.
